杭州汉基外籍人员子女学校于2015年2月经浙江省教育厅批复成立。学校坐落在杭州绿城育华学校校园内,为香港汉基十年级学生提供一学年的寄宿制沉浸式学习体验和与杭州当地学生交流的机会。学校现有学生107名,其中80%为香港本地学生,20%为外籍学生。教职工42名,中外籍教师23名,助教12名,行政人员7名。

杭州汉基自成立以来一直致力于培养植根中华文化兼具国际视野的学习者。学校以“中国”、“社区”、“挑战”、“性格”为四大支柱,促进学生的全面发展。学校六个学生宿舍分别以“仁、义、礼、智、信、勇”的六个学校核心价值观命名,旨在让学生对中华传统文化价值观耳濡目染,身体力行。学校将中国元素有效融入到国际课程体系,开设了赛龙舟、练舞狮、打太极、习书画等中国文化体验课。学校倡导“以中国为课堂”,创造各种机会让学生走出校门在真实情境中学习,拓宽眼界,切身感受内地发展与生活现状;同时倡导致知于行,服务社会,每周三下午同学们自主设计并开展社区服务项目,获得中国草根足球基金会公益项目、富阳民工子弟学校,启明星儿童康复中心等十多家合作单位及受助者的一致好评。

杭州汉基实施以“成长”为教育核心的校本课程,构建了包含学生主导的自主求知、身心康泰、合作探究、固守基础四大板块的学科课程体系。学校开设八大必修学科组,科目包括中文、英文、数学、科学、个人与社会、体育、艺术与设计。除此之外还开设了语言选修课,包括法语、西班牙语课。学校注重教学创新,打破学科边界,在跨学科学习及项目式学习方面效果显著。我校上届六位学生荣获2022年哥伦比亚大学商学院全球模拟企业家大赛亚洲赛区冠军,他们的创业设计项目内容及灵感均始于他们在杭州时的问题探究、市场调研及合作学习的经历。

杭州汉基自成立以来,在浙江省教育厅、杭州市教育局等政府部门的大力关心与支持下,在注重学生个人成长及教育上的探索创新收获了教育同仁和学生家长的积极评价。杭州一年的学习和生活经历,不仅让来自香港的汉基学子得到了远离父母、独立成长的锻炼机会,而且提升了他们的中文水平及中华文化的习得、增强了他们对祖国的了解和认同。

Introduction of Hangzhou CIS School for Children of Foreign Personnel

Hangzhou CIS School for Children of Foreign Personnel (HZCIS)was established in February 2015 with the approval of the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province. The school is located on the campus of Hangzhou Greentown Yuhua School. It provides a one-year residential immersion experience for Hong Kong Chinese International School Year 10 students who will have the opportunity to interact with local Hangzhou students. The school currently has 107 students, of which 80% are local Hong Kong students and 20% are foreign students. There are 42 faculty members, 22 Chinese and foreign teachers, 12  coach mentors, and 8 administrative staff.

Since its inception, Hangzhou CIS School for Children of Foreign Personnel has been committed to cultivating learners who are rooted in Chinese culture and have an international perspective. The four pillars of the school are "China", "Community", "Challenge", and "Character" promote the development of the whole student. The school's six student dormitories are named after the core school values of "Ren, Yi, Li, Zhi, Xin, and Yong," designed to imbue students with traditional Chinese cultural values and encourage them to reflect on and practice these values in daily life. HZCIS effectively blends an international curriculum with immersive Chinese cultural learning experiences such as dragon boat racing, lion dance, Tai Chi, calligraphy, and traditional painting. HZCIS fosters the idea of "China as a classroom", creating opportunities for students to learn through real-life situations, broaden their horizons, and experience the life and development of contemporary mainland China; at the same time, the school advocates “knowledge through action and service to the community”. Every Wednesday afternoon, students design and carry out community service projects, which have won praise of more than ten of our community service partner organisations, including the China Grassroots Soccer Foundation, Fuyang School for Migrant Children, and Qimingxing Children's Rehabilitation Center.

Hangzhou CIS School for Children of Foreign Personnelimplements a school-based curriculum with "growth" as the core of education, and has built a subject curriculum system that includes four major areas: student-led independent knowledge, physical and mental health, cooperative inquiry, and solid foundation. The school offers eight compulsory subject groups, including Chinese, English, mathematics, science, personal and social, physical education, and art and design. In addition, the school provides language electives, including French and Spanish. The school focuses on innovative teaching and learning, breaking down disciplinary boundaries, and achieving significant results in interdisciplinary and project-based learning. Six of our students won the 2022 Columbia University Business School Global Entrepreneurship Simulation Competition in Asia, and the content and inspiration for their entrepreneurial design projects began with problem-solving, market research, and collaborative learning experiences in Hangzhou.

With the support of the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Education, HZCIShas received positive feedback from education comrades and students' parents for its exploration and innovation in focusing on students' personal growth and education since its establishment. The one-year study and living experience in Hangzhou has not only given the students from Hong Kong the opportunity to grow up independently away from their parents, but also enhanced their Chinese language and culture acquisition, and strengthened their understanding and identification with their motherland.
